Description :
(S)-(+)-2-(Dibenzylamino)-3-phenyl-1-propanol is a chiral, hydroxyethylamine compound. It has been shown to be active against HIV and other viruses. The compound encompasses human immunodeficiency virus proteases, which are enzymes that cleave viral proteins, leading to the death of the virus. This activity is due to the inorganic acid moiety of (S)-(+)-2-(Dibenzylamino)-3-phenyl-1-propanol. (S)-(+)-2-(Dibenzylamino)-3-phenyl-1-propanol also inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the enzyme human immunodeficiency virus protease, which is required for viral replication.
