2,6-Dihydroxyanthraquinone is a natural compound that has been shown to have antioxidant properties. It also has been used as an inhibitor molecule for many infectious diseases and as an inhibitor of certain enzyme reactions. 2,6-Dihydroxyanthraquinone is also a redox potential with a high oxidation potential. This compound can react with hydrogen ions in water to form hydroxyanthraquinone, which is responsible for the inhibition of enzymes. 2,6-Dihydroxyanthraquinone has been used as a catalyst in palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions and as a chemical stabilizer in organic synthesis.
