• Description: Dorzolamide is a diuretic used to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It is an inhibitor of carbonic anhydrase, which decreases the production of aqueous humor in the eye. Dorzolamide reduces intraocular pressure by decreasing the production of aqueous humor. Dorzolamide is marketed as both dorzolamide hydrochloride and dorzolamide maleate, depending on its formulation. It has been shown to inhibit mitochondrial functions at pharmacological levels in experimental models, but not at physiological levels.
