Informations sur le produit
2,6-Dichloroquinazolin-4(3H)-one is an antihyperglycemic agent that inhibits the enzyme glucokinase. The inhibition of glucokinase leads to a reduced rate of glucose uptake by cells and decreased blood glucose levels. This compound also has a significant reduction in sucrose consumption in rats. 2,6-Dichloroquinazolin-4(3H)-one is not active against streptozotocin-induced diabetes in rats and may be a selective inhibitor of insulin secretion rather than insulin action. The mechanism of action for this drug is not yet known, but it may involve amines or nucleophilic groups on the molecule.
