Description

1,2-Dipalmitoyl-rac-glycerol is a fatty acid that belongs to the group of alkyl glycerols. It is a lipid with an α-hydroxyl group and a hydroxyl at the 1 position. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against coli K-12. 1,2-Dipalmitoyl-rac-glycerol also has hemolytic activity and may decrease drug interactions in humans. The phase transition temperature for this compound is -5°C.
