• Description: (S)-(-)-Diphenyl-2-pyrrolidinemethanol is a chiral compound that contains a chelate ring. It can be synthesized by the asymmetric synthesis of propargylamine, which is then converted to an amide chloride. The ester hydrochloride can be obtained from the esterification of propargylamine with epoxides, followed by hydrolysis. The stereoselective reaction of (S)-(-)-Diphenyl-2-pyrrolidinemethanol with primary amines at temperatures below -10°C produces secondary amines. This compound has been used in crystallography and in the reaction of β-unsaturated ketones with amines.
