Description :
3,5-Diiodo-L-tyrosine dihydrate is a white, water soluble solid that is used in the synthesis of levothyroxine. It has been shown to absorb ultraviolet light and undergo photolysis to form 3,5-diiodo-L-tyrosine. 3,5-Diiodo-L-tyrosine dihydrate can be analyzed by liquid chromatography or mass spectrometry and its UV absorption properties have been studied using quantum yields and magnetic analyses. The environment stability of 3,5-diiodo-L-tyrosine dihydrate has also been studied using solar irradiation and UV light.
