Description :
2-(Dimethylaminomethyl)-3-hydroxypyridine (DMAP) is an organic compound that can be synthesized by the reaction of dimethylamine and hydrogen chloride. The compound forms hydrogen bonds with chloride, piperidine, silver ions, and other molecules. DMAP has been shown to have strong luminescence properties in a supramolecular system. It also has intramolecular hydrogen bonds and interacts with other ligands. DMAP is used as a catalyst in different reactions such as ozonization and hydrolysis. DMAP is also used as a ligand for metal ions such as copper(II) or silver(I).
