Description :
6,7-Dihydro-5H-isoquinolin-8-one is a chemical substance that belongs to the group of azomethine and aporphine alkaloids. It has been isolated from plants of the genus Liriodendron. This compound is used as a precursor in organic synthesis and as an intermediate in the preparation of liriodenine, lanuginosine, norcorydine and other related compounds. 6,7-Dihydro-5H-isoquinolin-8-one has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. This substance has also been used as an insecticide or acaricide.
