Description

2-(Diphenylphosphino)benzaldehyde is a chlorine-containing organic compound that has significant antifungal activity. It is a tetradentate ligand and binds to metal ions through the two phenyl groups and the two chlorine atoms. 2-(Diphenylphosphino)benzaldehyde has been shown to be an effective catalyst for palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions, which are homogeneous catalysts. This compound also has potential anticancer properties and can bind to DNA by forming a complex with nitrogen atoms in the DNA backbone. 2-(Diphenylphosphino)benzaldehyde also displays conformational properties that allow it to interact with aromatic rings in proteins, which may be important for its biological activity as a potential anticancer agent.
