4-Dimethylamino-4'-nitrostilbene is a fluorescent probe that is widely used in the field of biology and medicine. It has been shown to be a powerful tool for studying various biological processes, such as protein synthesis and the dynamics of organelles. 4-Dimethylamino-4'-nitrostilbene has also been used as an indicator for drugs and pharmaceutical preparations.
