Description :2,3-Dicyanopyrazine is an organic compound that belongs to the class of unsymmetrical dicyanopyridines. This compound has been synthesized by a palladium-catalyzed coupling reaction between sodium hydrogen carbonate and 2-chloro-4-nitrophenylacetic acid. It can be used as a liquid crystal composition with optical properties that are sensitive to temperature, pressure, and wavelength. The molecular modelling of the compound shows that it contains a pyrazine ring with two alkynyl groups attached to it.
