Description

4,4'-Dimethoxybenzophenone is a process optimization agent that can be used to measure the concentration of basic proteins in human serum. It is also used as a chemical intermediate in the production of polymers. In this application, 4,4'-dimethoxybenzophenone undergoes an irreversible oxidation reaction with trifluoroacetic acid to form 4-methoxybenzoic acid and hydrogen peroxide.
