Description

1,5-Dicaffeoylquinic acid is a natural product found in Chinese medicine. It exhibits anticancer activity by inducing apoptosis in breast cancer cells and inhibiting the proliferation of human cancer cells. 1,5-Dicaffeoylquinic acid has been shown to inhibit glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) and protein kinase B (Akt) by binding to their active sites. The inhibition of GSK3β and Akt leads to cell death through the inhibition of cell proliferation.
