Description :
N,N-Dimethyl-3-phenylacrylamide is a disulfide that can be used to modify the functionality of organic compounds. The photolytic and thermolytic reactions are accelerated in the presence of alkylcobalt complexes. This compound has been shown to form lactams, cinnamic acids, and cinnamic lactams with a variety of functional groups. N,N-Dimethyl-3-phenylacrylamide has also been used as a model for molecular modelling studies and has been shown to react with styrene and amido compounds at high temperatures.
