1,12-Diaminododecane is a diamine that belongs to the group of amines. It has been shown to have hydrogen bonding interactions with malonic acid and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy with water vapor. 1,12-Diaminododecane also has a ph profile that ranges from acidic to basic. 1,12-Diaminododecane is also soluble in water and can be used as an emulsifier in food. The molecule can form complexes with metal hydroxides and nitrogen atoms, which may be due to its amine groups. This compound is found in soybean trypsin inhibitor and has been shown to inhibit the activity of this enzyme by binding to its active site.
