Description :
1,8-Dichlorooctane is an organic compound with the molecular formula C8H6Cl2. It is a colorless liquid that boils at 117 degrees Celsius. The compound has been shown to catalyze the reduction of protonated organic molecules, such as ethylene and other alkenes, to their corresponding alcohols. 1,8-Dichlorooctane is also capable of reducing activated covid-19 pandemic (A/H1N1) virus in aqueous solution. 1,8-Dichlorooctane can be used in analytical chemistry as an additive to dimethylformamide (DMF) in order to increase its solubility and improve its ability to dissolve polar compounds.
