Description

Dimethyl 2-fluoroterephthalate is an organic compound with the molecular formula of CHFO. It is a colorless liquid and has a strong odor. This chemical has been shown to be expressed in the brain and spinal cord of mice, where it acts as an opioid receptor agonist. Dimethyl 2-fluoroterephthalate is used in pharmaceutical preparations as a solvent and can be used to dissolve other substances. It also exhibits significant antibacterial activity against gram-negative pathogens and has been shown to inhibit the growth of gram-negative bacteria by binding to their cell wall. This chemical is also able to act as a linker for a ruthenium complex. Dimethyl 2-fluoroterephthalate reacts with nitrogen atoms in the presence of pyridine ring, acridone, or hydroxy group to form compounds that are soluble in water.
