2,5-Diaminobenzotrifluoride is a perfluoroalkyl chemical compound that has been used to make polyamides. It is a low molecular weight compound with a molecular weight of 110.07 g/mol and a boiling point of -47 °C. 2,5-Diaminobenzotrifluoride is soluble in water at concentrations of up to 1 g/L and can be polymerized using diacyl or diamines as substituents. Polycondensation reactions are usually conducted at temperatures below 100 °C and the resulting polymers have spectroscopic properties that depend on the type of substituents present. The polymerization process is usually followed by lyotropic chromatography in order to separate different products.
