Informations sur le produit
1,3-Didecanoyl-2-(6-(5-fluorouracil-1-yl)carbonylamino)hexanoylglyceride (FURAC) is a prodrug that is converted to 5-fluorouracil in vivo. FURAC binds to the mitochondrial membrane and induces fission, which leads to an increase in potassium ion release and oxidative stress. This drug has been shown to have psychotic effects in animals, as well as anticancer properties for certain cells. It also induces DNA methylation and inhibition of histone acetylation. FURAC has hypotensive activity due to its ability to inhibit the renin-angiotensin system; this activity may be mediated by its ability to inhibit angiotensin II formation by blocking the conversion of angiotensin I into angiotensin II.
