Vibunazole is a chemical compound that is used as an antifungal agent, specifically for the treatment of chronic pulmonary aspergillosis and opportunistic fungal infections. Vibunazole inhibits protein synthesis in the fungi by binding to enzymes that are essential for nucleic acid synthesis. It also has antimicrobial properties and can inhibit bacterial growth. Vibunazole has been shown to have good pharmacokinetic properties, with a half-life of more than 12 hours and low toxicity.
