Description :
8-Methoxy-6-nitroquinoline is a labile, medicinal chemical with a significant attenuation in the transition state. Although it is not an alkylator, 8-methoxy-6-nitroquinoline can be used as a synthon for nitrosourea compounds. It has been shown to have cytotoxic activity against cancer cells by interacting with DNA and forming covalent adducts. This chemical also has some ionizing properties, which may be due to the presence of one or more electron withdrawing groups on the aromatic ring.
