Description :Ethyl salicylate is a glycol ether that has been shown to be a stable complex with benzalkonium chloride. It can be used as an analytical method for the determination of salicylate ions in vitro and in vivo, and has proven to be a useful reaction mechanism for the synthesis of benzoates. Ethyl salicylate is also used as a preservative in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
