Informations sur le produit
- Propanoic Acid, 3-(Ethylthio)-
3-(Ethylthio)propanoic acid is an isomer of 3-hydroxypropanoic acid. It is a dietary supplement that has been shown to have biochemical properties, such as the ability to inhibit the synthesis of methionine from homocysteine. This agent has been found in etiological studies to be carcinogenic at high doses when given to CD-1 mice and other animals. 3-(Ethylthio)propanoic acid hydrolyzes in water to form ethylene glycol, which may lead to metabolic acidosis. It also binds with proteins and ionizes into a trifluoromethanesulfonic acid salt. The chemical can be detected by a photometric detector or by using a phenylhydrazone derivative as an indicator.
