Description

Ethyl aminohydroxyiminoacetate is a modulating agent that has been shown to improve the efficacy of cancer drugs. It can also be used as an antimicrobial agent and is effective against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Ethyl aminohydroxyiminoacetate binds to the active site of the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) and inhibits its function. The inhibition of DHFR prevents the production of tetrahydrofolate, which is required for DNA synthesis and protein synthesis in bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Ethyl aminohydroxyiminoacetate has been shown to bind with high affinity to plasma glucose and may be used as a potential insulin sensitizer.
