Description

Ethametsulfuron sodium is a sulfonylurea herbicide that inhibits the enzyme acetohydroxyacid synthase, which catalyzes the first step in the synthesis of branched-chain amino acids. It also has synergistic effects with other herbicides and growth regulators. Ethametsulfuron sodium is used to control weeds in plants such as solanum tuberosum and to remove weeds from wastewater treatment systems. This compound can be used as an analytical method for measuring dry weight in plants, and it can also be used to measure the concentration of this compound in urine samples.

Ethametsulfuron sodium is a monoclonal antibody that binds to specific plant cells, like myeloma cell line, and prevents them from growing or dividing by inhibiting cell division. The herbicide also has insecticidal effects due to its ability to inhibit chitin synthesis in insects.
