Description

2-Ethyl-2-methylmalonate diethyl (EMM) is a synthetic chemoreagent that inhibits electrons. It is used in the chemoenzymatic synthesis of polymers, which are efficient biocompatible drug delivery agents. EMM has been shown to be a polymerized, solid catalyst for various reactions, including those involving carboxylates and halogens. The thermodynamic properties of EMM have been studied extensively and it has been found to be more stable than other related compounds. The magnesium salt of EMM has been found to be an efficient method for the production of malonate esters in organic synthesis.
