• Description: Enalaprilat is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that prevents the formation of angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. It is used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. Enalaprilat is metabolized to enalapril, which has been found to act as an active inhibitor of DNA polymerase. This drug is also capable of inhibiting the synthesis of other proteins, such as those involved in protein transport and cell wall biogenesis.
