Ethyl 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propionate hydrochloride is a cyclic compound that is a member of the amide family. It is a herbicide that inhibits the growth of plants by blocking the synthesis of proteins, which are vital for plant growth. This compound may be useful as a preemergence herbicide because it has low toxicity to mammals and insects.
