Description

Ethyl paraben is a preservative that is added to cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food products. It is a member of the group of p-hydroxybenzoic acid esters, which are commonly called parabens. Ethyl paraben has been used as an analytical standard for the determination of parabens in environmental samples. It has also been shown to have antiinflammatory properties. In addition, it has biocompatible properties and can be used for wastewater treatment.
