Ethyl 4-amino-2-(methylthio)pyrimidin-5-carboxylate (EMPC) is a functional group. EMPC is found in protonated form at physiological pH and is a clinical drug that has been shown to mediate the transfer of electrons from surface receptors to cancer cells. The profile of EMPC has been determined using mutant and molecule studies, which revealed the presence of two functional groups: an amine group and a carboxylate group. EMPC also has acidic properties due to its acceptor ability, which makes it possible for this molecule to be used as an electron donor or acceptor. This capacity makes EMPC an excellent solvent for solvents with low solubility such as methanol.
