Ethyl isodehydroacetate (EIA) is a compound that belongs to the group of organometallic compounds. It has been used as a solid catalyst in Friedel-Crafts acylation and metathesis reactions. EIA can also be used as a hormone analogue, which affects the degenerative diseases of aging. This compound has also been shown to inhibit chronic pain by blocking the release of prostaglandin E2, which is involved in this condition. Studies have demonstrated that EIA may be an effective treatment for triticum aestivum, a plant that causes chronic pain when grown near crops. The optimal reaction temperature for EIA is between 60-70 degrees Celsius, with chloride as the solvent.
