Informations sur le produit
3-(2-Ethylhexyl)thiophene is a molecule with two thiophene rings that are connected by an ethylene bridge. The molecule has an optical band gap of 1.5 eV, which is higher than the 1.4 eV band gap of the unsubstituted thiophene ring. This intermolecular interaction leads to increased absorption in the visible region of the spectrum and increased efficiencies in solar cells. 3-(2-Ethylhexyl)thiophene can be used as a building block for a variety of materials, including solar cells, organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), and field-effect transistors (FETs). It can also be used as a precursor for other molecules through methylation reactions.
