Informations sur le produit
Eupalinolide b is a polyketide natural product that has been isolated from the marine sponge Euplectella aspergillum. It has been shown to be cytotoxic in cell culture and able to activate apoptosis by inducing caspase-9. Eupalinolide b also inhibits the synthesis of collagen and causes an oxidative DNA damage response in human cells. Furthermore, eupalinolide b can inhibit glucose metabolism and it is shown to have anti-cancer properties against chronic bronchitis and cancer cells. The chemical structure of eupalinolide b is similar to that of cytochrome c oxidase, which is a mitochondrial enzyme that plays an important role in the electron transport chain. Eupalinolide b can also cause a change in mitochondrial membrane potential by inhibiting cytochrome c oxidase activity.
