Description :
Ethyl pentafluorobenzoate is an organic compound with the formula C8H6F5O2. It is a colorless liquid that is soluble in organic solvents. The molecule consists of a central carbon atom flanked by five fluorine atoms, which are attached to two oxygen atoms at either end. The structure of this molecule can be thought of as consisting of three benzene rings, each with a hydroxyl group and two chlorine atoms. Ethyl pentafluorobenzoate has been used as an analytical reagent for the determination of ethanol concentrations in water samples and in the determination of metal carbonyls in environmental samples.
