Description

Ethyl 2-chloro-4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetate is an alkylsulfonyl compound that is used as a pesticide and an antifungal agent. It has been shown to have microbicidal activity against organisms such as bacteria, fungi, and protozoa. The time required for the reaction of Ethyl 2-chloro-4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetate with chloride ions in water was found to be about 5 minutes. This chemical also reacts with nitro compounds to form nitroso compounds. The effective dose of Ethyl 2-chloro-4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetate for killing haloalkyl substances was determined to be 0.5%.
