2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,9,9,10 10 11-Eicosafluoro-1 12-Dodecanediol is a compound that can be synthesized from the reaction of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and diisocyanate. It has hydrophobic properties and is used in the manufacture of polyurethane to extend the carbon chains and improve surface properties. This product is also used as a permeation enhancer for topical preparations and as an extender in platelet gel. The fluorine atoms in this product are important because they provide permeation chromatography with high resolution.
