5-[2-[2-(5-Fluoro-2-methoxyphenoxy)ethylamino]propyl]-2-methoxybenzenesulfonamide hydrochloride is an antihypertensive drug used to treat hypertension. It is a peripherally acting vasodilator that inhibits the production of angiotensin II and lowers blood pressure by relaxing vascular smooth muscle. 5-[2-[2-(5-Fluoro-2-methoxyphenoxy)ethylamino]propyl]-2-methoxybenzenesulfonamide hydrochloride also has a pharmacological profile similar to noradrenaline and antagonizes the inhibitory effect of noradrenaline on the heart, which may contribute to its effects on lowering blood pressure.
