Description :
Flupentixol decanoate is a long-acting injectable antipsychotic. It is an atypical antipsychotic that has been shown to be effective against chronic schizophrenia. Flupentixol decanoate has high binding affinity for dopamine D2 receptors, which are the most common type of dopamine receptors in the brain. This drug also binds to serotonin 5-HT2A and dopamine D3 receptors, as well as histamine H1 receptors and alpha-adrenergic receptors. The clinical efficacy of this drug has been demonstrated in controlled clinical trials with schizophrenic patients who were treated for more than 6 months.
