Description :
(S)-1-(3-Fluorophenyl)ethanol is a chiral molecule with an enantiopure (optical purity) of 99%. It has been found to have significant effect on the growth of Rhodotorula rubra. This is a yeast that is used in the production of alcoholic beverages. The reaction parameters and optimum conditions for the synthesis of this compound have been optimized and are available in literature. This compound can also be used as an analogue for other compounds that are difficult to synthesize or purify.
