Fipronil sulfide is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the amide group of the fipronil molecule. Fipronil sulfide is used in wastewater treatment, as well as for detection of fipronil in environmental samples. The linear regression analysis showed that population growth was significantly inhibited by fipronil sulfide and that the logistic regression model was able to predict the inhibition of population growth at concentrations of 0.0001 ppm or less. The analytical method involved sample preparation with a matrix effect, followed by an enantiomer separation using anhydrous sodium chloride as a chiral selector. The detection sensitivity of this technique is low because it can only detect fipronil sulfide at concentrations greater than 1 ppm. Fipronil sulfide has been shown to be toxic to humans and animals in animal studies.
