It is used for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders and as a centrally acting vasodilator. The nitrogen atom in 6-fluoro-1-methylindazole acts as a hydrogen bond donor, which may be responsible for its cardiovascular system effects. 6-Fluoro-1-methylindazole has been shown to increase blood flow, decrease pressure in the pulmonary artery, and decrease heart rate. This drug has also been shown to have antihypertensive effects and can be used for the treatment of hypertension.
