• Description: Fmoc-Trp(Me)-OH is a peptide that has been synthesized as an inhibitor of the enzyme cytochrome P450, which is involved in the metabolism of drugs. Fmoc-Trp(Me)-OH inhibits the activity of cytochrome P450 by binding to its active site and preventing access to substrates. The affinity and conformation of Fmoc-Trp(Me)-OH are optimized for optimal inhibition of cytochrome P450. Half-life values have been determined from a study using rats, which showed that Fmoc-Trp(Me)-OH had a half life of about 8 hours. Hydrophobic interactions between Fmoc-Trp(Me)-OH and the active site of cytochrome P450 are responsible for its inhibitory potency.
