- Frangulin B
Frangulin b is a natural compound that belongs to the glycoside derivatives and has been shown to be a Cox-2 inhibitor. It inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines by rat neutrophils, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the target enzymes cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 (COX-1, COX-2). Frangulin b also has an effect on collagen synthesis through its ability to inhibit COX-1, COX-2, and thromboxane synthase. In addition, frangulin b was shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in an animal model of arthritis.
