• Description: Farnesyl pyrophosphate triammonium salt is a proteolytic cancer drug that has been shown to be effective against cancer cells. Farnesyl pyrophosphate triammonium salt is an active analog of farnesyl pyrophosphate, which is an intermediate in the synthesis of cholesterol and other steroids. Farnesyl pyrophosphate triammonium salt inhibits protein synthesis by inhibiting the methylation of proteins and the transfer of methyl groups from S-adenosylmethionine to protein substrates. This leads to a decrease in the expression of proteins necessary for cell division, such as DNA polymerase α and RNA polymerase II.
