Description :
4-Fluoro-7-azaindole is a cyclic compound that is made of two 4-chloro-7-azaindole rings. It is more efficient than the traditional method, which utilizes amines and pyridine n-oxide. The fluorination reaction is regioselective and gives a 1:1 ratio of fluorinated to nonfluorinated product. This synthesis has been shown to be efficient in the microwave reaction.
