• Description: Fluphenazine sulfoxide is a piperazine derivative that is an antipsychotic drug. It has been used in the treatment of chronic schizophrenia, acute exacerbation of psychotic symptoms, and for patients who are unresponsive to other antipsychotics. Fluphenazine sulfoxide is metabolized by glucuronidation and then excreted in the urine as a conjugate with glucuronic acid.
