3-Fluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic acid is an asymmetric synthesis of 3-fluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic acid, which is a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) α agonist. The compound has been shown to be effective in inhibiting the growth of tumor cells through the activation of PPARα receptors. 3-Fluoro-4-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic acid has also been shown to have magnetic properties. It is chiral and has a carboxylic acid group.
