4-Fluoro-N-methoxy-N-methylbenzamide is an organofluorine compound that has a high activity for the aminocarbonylation of alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones. It is used in the synthesis of pyridyl heterocycles and can also be used to synthesize photochromic compounds. 4-Fluoro-N-methoxy-N-methylbenzamide reacts with iodides to form exocyclic fluorinating agents, which are useful in organic synthesis. 4FMMB is a ligand that forms complexes with metals such as copper and zinc. In these metal complexes, it plays the role of a carbonylative agent by converting metal hydroxides into metal carbonyls. The compound 4FMMB is also a phosphine, which can be converted into carboxylic acids after hydrolysis or oxidation. This compound has been found to advance the ring opening reactions
