• Description: C.I. Food Yellow 3 is a food coloring that is used in the preparation of foods, beverages, and pharmaceuticals. It is also used as a dye for textiles and paper products. This dye has been shown to have no adverse effects on locomotor activity in rats and has been found to be nontoxic when administered at doses up to 5000 mg/kg for long periods of time (2 years). The compound does not react with sodium citrate or crystalline cellulose, and it is stable under acidic conditions. C.I.
